From 2013 to 2017, total capital investment in the Middle East and North Africa region is expected to reach $147.5 billion, an increase of 123.9 GW. The Gulf Cooperation Council received $63.1 billion in investment projects. The eastern Arab countries received $36.8 billion,Iranreceived $21.4 billion, the western Arab countries received $14.6 billion, and other Arab countries received nearly $2.3 billion in investment projects.
Saeed Mohammad Al Tayer, President of the Dubai Water Resources Bureau, said that qualified bidders are being invited to propose the fourth phase of the 200MW concentrating solar power project (CSP) in Dubai Maktoum Solar Park. The project is expected to be operational by April 2021 and will continue to be built into the 1000MW CSP project by 2030. It is planned to reach a total installed capacity of 1,000 MW by 2020 and 5,000 MW by 2030 with a total investment of DM 50 billion. At the same time, the project is also an important part of DEWA's support for the Dubai Clean Energy 2050 strategy. According to the plan, Dubai's clean energy ratio will reach 7% in 2020, 25% in 2030 and 75% in 2050.
