Newcastle University, Australia Successfully Printed Thin Film Solar Cells

- Dec 01, 2018-

Recently, Newcastle University ofAustraliaannounced that it successfully printed thin-film solar cells and completed the first large-scale commercial installation.

It is reported that this solar cell uses ultra-light organic materials, which are printed on a sub-millimeter-thick plastic film by a conventional printer. The material and softness of the battery is similar to that of a potato chip, and the production cost per square meter of battery material is less than $10.

According to reports, after completing the first large-scale physical installation, the team tested and adjusted the system and completed the system upgrade in a short period of time, which not only greatly improved the system's aesthetics, but also improved the installation method and battery efficiency.
