Chongqing's largest photovoltaic power generation project will be completed in May

 

The Sanxi photovoltaic project in Wushan  County is expected to be completed in May this year, and all PV modules will be connected to the grid for power generation. By then, the annual on-grid electricity will be about 170 million kWh, and the annual income will be about 130 million RMB. Compared with coal-fired power plants of the same size, it can save 55.33 million tons of standard coal per year, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 143,850 tons, reduce sulfur dioxide emissions by about 0.132 million tons, and solve the employment of about 200 people.

The Chongqing Daily reporter learned from the Wushan County Development and Reform Commission that the 195MW agricultural (forest) solar-complementary photovoltaic power generation project in Wuxi County, Sanxi (hereinafter referred to as the Sanxi photovoltaic project) will be fully completed in May this year, which is the largest photovoltaic power generation project in our city so far.

 

Wushan County is one of the districts with the best light conditions in the city. The annual effective use of light can reach 1100 hours. The Sanxi photovoltaic project has a total investment of 1.4 billion RMB and an installed capacity of 195 megawatts. It is the first photovoltaic power generation project in the county.

 

'While Wushan has good sunlight conditions, it is not easy to develop the photovoltaic industry’. According to the relevant person in charge of the Wushan County Development and Reform Commission, the county has steep slopes and few flats. There is no single place where the project can be concentrated.

 

The reporter saw at the scene that the photovoltaic array consisting of a piece of black photovoltaic panels was scattered in different hills. Most of the photovoltaic arrays have been built, and the rest will be completed by May this year. The 220 kV booster station in Liangping  Town has also been basically completed. The first batch of units was merged into the national grid at the end of last year.

 

According to Li Xi, the person in charge of the project site, the Sanxi two-pyeong photovoltaic project is expected to be completed in May this year, and all units will be connected to the grid for power generation. The reporter found that, unlike many photovoltaic power generation projects, the photovoltaic panels of the project are higher than the ground. Due to the different terrains, the lowest distance is about 1 meter from the ground and 2.5 meters from the high.

 

'That is because we will plant crops under the photovoltaic panels in the next step, which will prevent soil erosion and further improve economic efficiency.’ Li Xi said that solar panels cover most of the light and are suitable for some growing of plants. Such as the local konjac, Codonopsis, etc., are all plant typical of sunny habitats, and only a dozen or tens of centimeters high, can also grow normally under the photovoltaic modules.
